Mihir Raina is a Music Producer, DJ and educator. He studied guitar performance at Swarnabhoomi academy of Music under Ricardo Vogt and Brian Metreyon. Apart from guitar, he has always been interested in experimental electronic music, and began exploring the possibilities of using technology to create music with his new project Lacuna.
As Lacuna, Mihir has worked on multiple Ep’s singles and collaborations, revolving around hip-hop, bass music and experimental electronica, releasing music both independently and on labels including Foreign Currency, Azadi Records & Boxout.fm Recordings. A regular performer, he has played at various festivals including NH7 Weekender, Bass Camp Festival, Ziro Festival of Music and continues to play across clubs across the country. He has shared the stage with some of his favourite international artists including Daedelus, Compa, Loefah, Nightmares on Wax, Christian Loeffler and ATOS.
Apart from his personal explorations in electronic music, he has also worked in radio, as a sound engineer and composer at Fever FM. During his tenure, he did sonic identity for multiple brands including Taco Bell, Carl’s Jr. Burger, LG, Samsung, Mercedes and more.
Mihir has actively been involved in teaching, starting from working with Music Basti in Delhi. The programme enables children to write original songs and host public performances by learning leadership skills through music education. He is a passionate educator and has been training students privately for the last three years.
