She herself was born to parents with disabilities. She knew all the problems faced by individuals facing disabilities while travelling, and she noticed that there was a huge gap in society when it came to travelling and leisure activities; there were only no avenues for this. This is the reason why Neha Arora started this initiative.
Her efforts in starting PLANET ABLED have been successful in a tremendous way as PLANET ABLED has been a recipient of many awards such as the NCPEDP-MPHASIS Universal Design award and Indian Responsible Tourism Award by outlook Traveler and World Travel Market London. The feather in the cap is the best innovative practice award at Zero Project Conference at UN Vienna in 2018. To have impacted the lives of people with disabilities in the world in a positive way.
Neha is a graduate of the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Centre MMI program and recipient of the India inclusion summit fellowship for her work on Planet Abled. Neha has also conducted several workshops and awareness sessions about the amalgamation of people with disabilities in several corporate and various forums. She has also been delivering sessions on Social Entrepreneurship in universities and colleges including seminars organised by IIMs.
Neha Arora is a prime example of the quote “Proactive responding is the ability to listen to the other person’s feelings and empathise without taking responsibility for those feelings”.

Personal Branding – The Need of the Hour
Digital world has become an essential part of our life. For students, all digital platforms, whether it is networking websites like Facebook or Twitter or content websites like YouTube or Instagram, or their own blogs, all these platforms have become a day-to-day part of not just their personal life, but also their academic life.

Academic institutes, in India, as well as abroad, while selecting students for their graduate and undergraduate students, and companies while selective candidates for various job roles, along with checking students on various quality parameters and their academic performance, also give high importance to their activities in digital social life. They want to see and understand what are all activities a student does on these social media platforms. According to a study by Kaplan Study prep, online digital brand, which includes all digital activities by students, influence the decision-making of admission managers. So, it is very important for students to present their best part on social media, create their personal brand using these online platforms, and maintain that for the long term.
Each of these social media platforms has a different purpose for its users. For example, Facebook is all about sharing what is happening in your personal or professional lives, however, LinkedIn is only for making business connections. Instagram is all about sharing the soft side of life, fun, and color of life in terms of photographs or videos. YouTube is all about creating content, both personal and professional which is available to the public to view, comment on, or share. Essentially before starting to use all these platforms, students should understand the aim of these platforms so that they can get the best out of them, to build their personal brands.
Personal branding, according to PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), is “what you’re known for and how people experience you. It’s about bringing who you are to what you do and how you do it.” For students, their personal branding is promoting their ideas, skills, knowledge, competencies, and achievements among their network, universities, or future employers where they want to start their dream jobs. This involves presenting the best part of you - your personality, communication, interpersonal skills, networking skills, hobbies, and passions. However, remember promotion is effective only if a product is of good quality and after-sales services are also good. Similarly, it is critical to develop required behavioral, leadership, and technical competencies; present them effectively on offline as well as online platforms; then continuously strive to improve them. That is the only way to build a long-term sustainable personal brand. As Rome was not built in a day, so for every person, it takes time to build a personal brand, both in the offline world as well as on social media.
At JAGSOM (Jagdish Sheth School of Management) which is part of Vijaybhoomi University, we focus on and help students to discover themself; develop the advanced management competencies with new-age specializations like music, law, and data science; and help students to present their skills and competencies effectively to the outer world with an aim to build their own personal brand which is effective and sustainable in long term. JAGSOM is the only B-School in India that has both its campuses – Bangalore as well Karjat campus – AACSB accredited, which is a gold standard in management institutions across the world.

What activities are unique to VU?
|

Shritika Dubey, Vijaybhoomi School of Law
As we all know very few universities provide any adventurous activities to students. Vijaybhoomi creates a vast attraction with the help of these activities, nowadays students are more affectionate towards challenges and trekking could be a good idea apart from studies as studies already consists of so many different competitions and challenges. Students here actually enjoy trekking more than any activity and the nature here also contributes its sweetness towards the students.
The weather makes it more fun for trekking, and this makes it a unique activity and participation with fun and a good exposure towards our beautiful earth. We are guided by our sports teacher who makes it easier and funnier to trek. There is a full responsibility towards students by the University. Generally we enjoy trekking every month and the whole year and we get to be involved with all the weather.
